i )   average kinetic energy of a gas = 1/2 (M/N)U^2

      M= molarmass of Co2 = 44 g/mol , Co = 28 g/mol

      N = avagadros number = 6.023*10^23
from the above information at consatnt temperature average speed of the gas molecules

is same for both gases but by increasing molarmass average kinetic energy increases.


ii) RMS velocity = sq rt (3RT/M)

   it is inverse to molarmass of gas . so that RMS velocity of CO2 is less than CO.
