Question

In hypotonic solutions, cells swell and may eventually burst because the osmotic pressure is higher inside the cell than out. The osmotic pressure difference (delta pi) is calculated as delta pi = RT delta C delta C is the difference in transmembrane concentration of impermeant solutes in units of Osmoles/L. R represents the gas constant R = 0.08206 (L* atm) / (mol*K) T represents the temperature which for this lab will be 298 K. For your calculations , assume both normal saline and intracellular fluid have solute concentrations of 0.3 Osmoles / liter. Compute the osmotic pressure difference across the membrane at the mean osmotic fragility and include this information on your data sheet. Be sure to show all of your calculations.

Explanation / Answer

Yes it is fine, but you must define if is 36% or 0.324% NaCl, also you must say that for the NaCl in water, 1 mol/L = 2 Osmoles/L

The other calculations are good. Congratulations!!!
