During my time at university, I was part of a project team focused on developing a marketing strategy for a local non-profit organization. This team comprised six members, including students from various academic backgrounds such as marketing, graphic design, and communications. We met weekly, collaborating to gather research, brainstorm ideas, and create a cohesive marketing plan. I consider this group a team rather than just a group because we shared a common goal, communicated openly, and supported each other's contributions throughout the project. Each member took on specific roles based on their strengths, which contributed to a deeper sense of unity and purpose.
The experience within this team was largely positive and highlighted the importance of collaboration. In our first few meetings, we faced some initial conflicts regarding differing opinions on the direction of our project. However, we navigated these conflicts through open dialogue and by establishing ground rules for our discussions. This process not only resolved tensions but also strengthened our trust and cohesion. By addressing conflicts early on, we were able to focus more on our collaborative efforts.
