Reflection/Impression: I feel I learned some interesting factors today that re-enforced what I learned in class/lab. I found assembly and analysis to be very interesting and saw how coding is a critical function in the health information department. I look forward to learning more about the different job duties within health information in the next class.

I found this experience to be very enlightening and I hope to learn more next week. Today, my visit to St. Antonio's Hospital was an enriching experience that provided me with valuable insights into the Health Information Management (HIM) department. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the director, Jane Doe, RHIT, who provided a comprehensive tour of their facilities. During this tour, Jane explained the intricate process of how medical records are managed, beginning from the point of patient discharge to their ultimate placement in the permanent file area.
The process consists of several critical steps: assembly and analysis, coding, addressing incomplete files, reanalysis, and the eventual storage of files in the permanent area. Reflection/Impression


Reflecting on today’s experience, I have come to appreciate the complexity and crucial nature of the processes underlying medical record management. I am intrigued by the role of technology in enhancing data management processes. The implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems was a hot topic during our discussions.
