Question

CHMG 14:2 SOUP Names: (10 pt.) I mix the following things into a SINGLE 1 L beaker: 150 mL of 0.100 M Na CO 50.0 mL of 0.050 M BaClz 100.0 mL of 0.025 M Cu(NO,)2 100.0 mL of 0.125 M Ca(NO;)2 50.0 mL of 0.100 M NaOH After the "soup" is all done "cooking ".. er...after equilibrium has been established, tell me the following: 1. What (if any) are all of the precipitates? 2. What is the mass of each precipitate? (If any) 3. What is the concentration (Molarity) of each chemical species that is still in solution?

Explanation / Answer

solution-

(a) all salts and bases are soluble in water ,they do not react with each other if ,if they do so by double displacement reaction the resulting salt formed will also be soluble in water except calcium carbonate which will be formed by double displacment reaction of sodium carbonate with calcium nitrate.and copper nitrate reacting with sodium hydroxide to form copper hydroxide as precipitates.we calculate each answer one
