Question
I have no idea what to do for this problem despite the answer key "explaining" it somewhat. Please show and tell me step by step what to do as if explaining to somebody who never took chemistry before. I don't understand how to write a rate law nor how to get subscripts for the chemical equations so please write and explain how to me.

4)
a)
see trial 1 and 2
[CH3CH2OH] doubles
[Na] is constant
rate also doubles
so,
order of CH3CH2OH is 1
see trial 1 and 3
[CH3CH2OH] constant
[Na] is doubles
rate become 8 times
so,
order of Na is 3
rate law is:
rate = k[CH3CH2OH] [Na]^3
b)
rate = k[CH3CH2OH] [Na]^3
put values from trial 1
1.5*10^-3 M/min = k (0.12M ) (0.10 M)^2
= 12.5 min-1M-2
Answer: 12.5 min-1M-2
