When you begin interviewing as you approach graduation, you will need to analyze job offers that include a number of financial and nonfinancial elements. Which of these aspects of employment are your top three priorites a good base wage, bonus or commission opportunities, profit-sharing potentia; rapid advancement opportunities, flexible work arrangements; good healthcare insurance coverage; or a strong retirement program? Which of these elements would you be willing to forego in order to get your top three?Explanation / Answer
After graduation I will be starting my career in a clearly new field from my past experiences. Though I will have some theoretical knowledge about the subject but I will be very naïve at a first job. The aspects of the employments which are my top three priorities will be:
1. A good base wage: This will be my first priority as every fresher will seek to have a good package at the start of his career at his early days. I will be seeking a not very high salary but decent one in my field and also good learning opportunities which will provide me a solid bed rock platform to achieve greater heights in coming days.
2. A good health care insurance: This is a very critical element in one’s life which majority of person ignores during their job career. As long as you are healthy both physically and mentally then only you will be able to give your 100% in your job. Though I may get few thousand less but a good healthcare insurance will compensate that.
3. A strong retirement program: This will be my third priority as this will enhance my retirement benefits and will ensure that I will be able to live a dignified and happy life after post retirement. Good post retirement benefits not only help you in your old age but also help to cater the needs of your children in most comprehensive way.
I will be willing to forego bonus or commission opportunities, profit sharing potential, rapid advancement opportunities and flexible work environment in order to get my top three priorities.
