when we first started using fossil fuels, particularly oil, we did not know, nor were we particularly concerned about, potential environmental impacts of developing and burning oil. Suppose, at that time, we had completed an environmental impact report concerning the use of oil and had been able to predict consequences, such as air pollution, toxicity, and acid rain. Do you think we would have developed the use of oil as fast as we did and become so dependent on it? Justify your answer.

Oil the main source which makes the world and people moving at around at a rapid speed . The arrival of industrial age was on mid 1700 and coal used to be primary source of energy and that was the starting stage of pollution and people started depending on it and at this stage we are linked to it
According to me whether it produces pollution or not we would have still used it . According to people the work should be completed rapidly,increase in quantity of work and efficently of work which ( inturns makes them more profit) . These oils are a kind of profit increase policy without any pressure and for that profit people are willing to rip and suck every inch of oil from earth . Accoring to the prediction the oil reserve would be ended by 2050 but it was just a prediction it would end soon enough thus leading us to the stone age unless we start using natural elements as our power (solar,biogas,wind etc). The main reason for pollution is not oil instead it is people greed and behaviour toward the environment believed it as a non living being to take revenge but atlast everything has a consequence and everyone has to suffer
