Learn more about how the internet is being used to share knowledge and information to a global audience by watching the video: “Why TED Talks Attract a Global Audience”. Next, visit and review the website: http://www.ted.com/talks to learn more about TED talks. Take some time to watch a few of the videos on the website (select the videos of your choice). After reviewing the website and watching the videos, think back to what we have read about in Chapter 3 of the textbook. The ten most viewed TED talks have been watched from 16 Million to 45 Million times. These are about creativity, body language, inspiration, creativity, insight, motivation, and, sixth sense. By the end of 2006, these had been watched 2 Million times. Three years later, the number was 200 Million. At the end of 2012, Technology, Entertainment, and, Design talk views crossed one billion collective views numbers. These are 18-minute videos from thinkers and doers. The two TED conferences are TED Global and TED conference, held every two years and annually respectively. This is apart from TED satellite conferences, TEDx, recorded across the world. The mission is to spread ideas. Change in lives, attitudes, and the world can come from these ideas. TED covers topics from global issues, business, and, science in more than 100 languages.
