Question
Please type down (easy for me to copy and paste) your response (thoughts) after your reading the following paragraphs. (min 5 sentences, around 150-200 words)
Oliver Scalabre states how the world is undergoing a fourth manufacturing revolution. Scalabre states how we the global economy has been in decline in the past 50 years. This will have a negative impact on everyone because no growth will mean fewer jobs and an opportunity for the younger generation. Scalabre believes the world is going through a fourth manufacturing revolution, which will help stimulate economic growth. Scalabre states the other three manufacturing revolutions were the steam engine in the early 19th century, the mass production model in the early 20th century, and the first automation wave in the 1970s. Now 40 years after the third wave, we are now in the fourth wave of the manufacturing revolution
The fourth manufacturing revolution contains many groups, "advanced robots, additive manufacturing, horizontal/vertical integration, augmented reality, cloudy and cybersecurity, simulation, industrial internet, big data, and analytics" (Scalabre). All of this help push the manufacturing world generations ahead. When people think of the future in one hundred years, most of the things in the fourth manufacturing revolution will be in that future. The use of robots in manufacturing will be inevitable because it helps humans do tedious tasks. The use of 3D printing helps manufacture cheap products with minimal error.
I agree with Scalabre analysis because the future of manufacturing is already here. The problem is are we ready to implement it in our everyday lives. Many people do not trust putting information in the cloud because what if it gets hacked and then all information will be leaked. Many people do not believe robots either because what if they decide to take over the world or just break down? However, in order for humans to move forward, we will have to sacrifice some things in order to gain new things.

1) The author is concerned that the global economy has been in decline for the past50 years. Which he strongly believes to have a negative impact on everyone due to decrease in employment opportunities for the younger generations to come
2) The author on the other hand is also concerned that the world is going through a fourth revolution which will stimulate the economic growth

He specifically emphasis that we are now in the fourth wave of the manufacturing revolution which he particularly mentions that it contains many groups, advanced robots, additive manufacturing, horizontal/ vertical integration augmental reality , cloudy, cyber security, simulation, industrial internet, big data, analysis, all of these helps push the manufacturing world generations ahead.
Now the author sums up saying that when people think of the future in 100 years , most of the things in the fourth manufacturing revolution will be in that future.
Lastly we agree with Scalabre analysis because the future manufacturing is already here, the problem is if we are ready to implement it or not.

However here what the author really wants us to understand is that in order for the humans to move forward, we need to sacrifice something's in order to gain new things.
