Question

Please discuss the arguments around the U.S. joining and remaining in multi-nation trade agreements. 1) How is the Boeing 787 Dreamliner an example of a global supply chain? Beyond obtaining parts, what does this accomplish for Boeing? 2) Appraise how natural resources, science, and innovation are arguments to avoid trade agreements. 3) What problems could arise in negotiating nation-to-nation agreements to replace multi-nation agreements? 4) Interpret the position that paychecks and (loss of) tax base make consumers "bigger losers" in global trade. ?

answer to question number 1

a) Boeing 787 dreamliner an example of global supply chain? Beyond opening what does this accomplish for Boeing?

The above line is not just a great example of operational efficiency but also a method of opening trade channels for US established company to the whole world. Boeing has supplied its parts commercial aircrafts to not just to Asian countries but also to European and South African Nations. This has improved operational efficiency profits and revenues for the company. By doing this the company has been able to establish a global supply chain also to reach markets with not reachable till now.

To establish such complex supply chain it took Boeing 5 years of market research continuous upgradation in operations and partnering with foreign Nations. This is improved the airline's overall model of operation and connectivity with the world.

b) Appraise how natural resources, science, and innovation are arguments to avoid trade agreements. Natural resources can be found in abundance or in rarity depending upon the geographical placement of a place if a place like India metal and place that South Africa has so much of greenery it will be difficult for these countries to trade their natural resources for certain sum of money. This will lead to depletion of these resources and sooner or later such resources will be exhausted.

Science and innovation is not restricted to a nation or a geography. Hence a trade cannot be restricted by boundaries of science if we have scientist all around the globe discovering new theories constantly innovating, science is expanding enhance trade agreements based on these innovation and researchers cannot be a viable solution.

c) What problems could arise in negotiating nation-to-nation agreements to replace multi-nation agreements- we have so many nations who are always fighting for their own interest and will always trade or Exchange good for their own interest. Hence a nation to Nation agreement is difficult to be replaced by a multinational agreement because might not have similar interest profits with the agreement. We can always have a multi nation agreement only when all the Nations agree to certain benefits out of the agreement and there is no Nation to Nation agreement.

d)Interpret the position that pay-checks and (loss of) tax base make consumers "bigger losers" in global trade- Global trade involves import and export of goods and in case the consumers are not paying taxes which means there is a loss of tax base then the government will not be able launch Global trade facilitating schemes or subsidies thereby affecting Nation to Nation trade. Secondly if there is youth paycheck then the customer will be ready or willing to buy foreign goods thereby promoting import whereas if the pay cheque is small or lesser in amount then customer will not be inclined to purchasing much of goods hence impacting Global trade.
