Explanation / Answer

The death of his wife brought a lot of affliction and despair for Andrew Jackson who became very depressed after he lost his wife. So he decided to become President. The reason behind such an extreme step is the fact that the people had chosen him. And so he was called the people’s candidate.

Upon entering the office, he decided to eliminate the bank and paper currency believing that the bank was unconstitutional and was using the money for its own good

Henry Clay and Vice President Calhoun were against this decision, in that Henry Clay dared Jackson to veto the chartered bill. Still, Jackson defended the interest of the people and withdrew the money from the US bank and moved it into state banks and killed the US banks and paid off the national debt
