Question
In Chapter 2, you learned about the concept of opportunity cost, and the Section 2.1 review video demonstrated this concept. In your initial post, respond to the following: Describe various opportunity costs of attending a four-year college (assuming a full-time schedule). Given these opportunity costs, why do people choose a four-year college experience? In your own life, what are the trade-offs you face when choosing online classes versus traditional face-to-face classes? In your response posts to your peers, comment on the trade-offs made by your peers, and contribute other costs and trade-offs that might be possible. Additionally, discuss why trade-offs differ among individuals, giving concrete explanation.
Explanation / Answer
I would have to say the reasons people choose to attend four-year college academic programs is because our holes life’s we are programmed you have to attend college if you want to make a lot of money to buy material things and to be happy. This is completely opposite how things work in real life, if you work hard by following through you can achieve your goals.
Off and on for the past ten years I have been going to school taken classes I feel better inline myself with my personal goal at that time. During this time I have found a good balance beaten work, personal life and school. When it comes to an opportunity costs I would have to say the time spent in classes where the content was antiquated information or with filler requirements designed for first time students instead catering to the non traditional ones.
