Maria is a community services worker. In her role she needs to be able to communicate with many people with different communication needs. Some of the people she works with have low health literacy levels and others are living with an impairment that impacts on their communication. To be an effective communicator in her workplace Maria needs to be able to employ a range of communication modes, models and types in order to meet the individual communication needs of the people she cares for.

Nonverbal communication (NVC) between people is communication through sending and receiving wordless clues.
It includes the use of visual cues such as body language (kinesics), distance (proxemics) and physical environments/appearance, of voice (paralanguage) and of touch (haptics).
Form of non verbal communication includes
Eye contact, Facial expressions, Posture, haptics or touch, Gestures and personal space.
5Ans: She prepares health talks on chart paper with pictures to convey the message to the impairement people.
Drama play to make them understand the importance of health and thier needs.
6Ans: Maria can recognize the people whether the following communication is understandable to evryone by giving questionnaire after the session, if she dont receive the expected results, then she need to change the communication method. Pictoral representation, role play, Visual aids etc.
