we have 1/f = 1/i + 1/o
given for o = -32 cm , i = 18 cm
so f = i*o/(i+o) = 41.14 cm
now we have to find i when o = -18 cm
so we get i = f*o/(o-f) = 41.14*(-18)/(-18 - 41.14) cm = 12.52 cm
