I would like you to consider an aspect of biology that you think might NOT be related to molecular genetics or one in which we could not test with molecular genetics.

acid base balance inthe biology what i thinkis not explaned by the molecular genetics because it is totally depends on the physiology and our life style means out diet. although this acid base balance is strictly in regulated manner. for example the intestinal lumen and their is a regulation between Cl- ions and other ions and water and other mineral follow this concentration to maintain all stuffs at right.
But there could be another though that corelate this aspect with molecular biology that for Cl- ions movement there is a particular receptors which is specific for chloride ion and this receptor is made up of protein which is directed by genes and if they are mutated there is uncontrolled efflux of cl- ions from intestinal lumen and water also follow and other ions like K+ and all and there is disturbance between ionic balance which cause particular disease which is explained by genetic analysis. example cystis fibrosis.
