Question

Please answer the question very well.. I want you to find the hypothesis, productions, and experiment. ich) utes are related to the functions of of the four macromolecules results ad. Ansyou would usete ey 'm taking biology! I bet I coul t would cause you to accept/reject these hypotheses 2) You and a friend are eating in LTU's where the functions ot les and describe their structurelo). the f ou would use the scientific method to determine why er by proposing 2 hypotheses, indicate how you wo figure out what is happening" e eating in LTU's RFOC. fr wonder Describe how y nder why tour friend says "Hey, theré's a spot out the is not growing in some spots in the quad. Aasould causey that is?" You respond, "Hey, I'm taking biology lg!" em, and indicate possible results which wouro Possiblo in the oYou res ley, there's a spot out there in the quacd In Bio1213 we learned about reactions for photor

Explanation / Answer

Introduction:

It may be observed that at certain spot, grasses are not growing, leaving bare patches in the lawn. This may be attributed to various conditions like fugal diseases, wastes, weather conditions, availability of sunlight or moisture. Two most important conditions may be:

1.Difference in the light intensity or quantity of light received: Since, sunlight plays an important role in plant photosynthesis. Due to shades from nearby trees or other structures, the sunlight may be blocked at certain portion, resulting in no growth of the grasses at some points.

2. Difference in pH: Certain portions of the soil may be more acidic due to wastes, chemicals, food substances, etc. accumulating at certain spaces, variation in shade, moisture, other plants may also alter pH at certain points.

Hypothesis 1: Growth of grass varying with light intensity.

Experiment:

Condition B- 2 spots have partial shade,

Condition C- 2 spots have complete shade.

Rejection/ acceptance of hypothesis:

If growth is observed in decreased pattern from condition A to condition C, the hypothesis is accepted.

While if same growth pattern is observed in all conditions or no (less) growth in sunlight exposed spot occurs, the hypothesis is rejected.

Hypothesis 2: Growth of grass varying due to different pH conditions at different spots.

Experiment:

Condition B- 2 spots with pH 4-5,

Condition C- 2 spots with pH 6-7.

Rejection/ acceptance of hypothesis:

If growth is observed in increased growth pattern from condition A to condition C, the hypothesis is accepted.

While if same growth pattern is observed in all conditions or lesser growth in condition C, the hypothesis is rejected.
