Question
Centripetal Force
A)You did this experiment with three different masses by taking apart the brass mass. Based on your data, what effect did decreasing this mass have on the force you measured/calculated (look at both F1 and F2 values since they represent the same force)? Is this what is scientifically expected? Explain
Centripetal Force A)You did this experiment with three different masses by taking apart the brass mass. Based on your data, what effect did decreasing this mass have on the force you measured/calculated (look at both F1 and F2 values since they represent the same force)? Is this what is scientifically expected? ExplainExplanation / Answer
Observations:
Trail 1: For mass m1 = 0.208 kg , force F2 = 0.760 N with error percentage 3%
Trail 2: For mass m1 = 0.157 kg , force F2 = 0.769 N
Trail 2: For mass m1 = 0.106 kg , force F2 = 0.732 N
From the observations, it is clear that the force would decreases with decrasesing mass.
Note: Centripetal force increses with increasing mass for same speed and radius of the path the object follows or vice-versa.
