Explanation / Answer

A)
u1 = 400 mm (object distance for first lense)

f1 = 130 mm

let v1 is the image distance for the first lense.

we know,

1/u1 + 1/v1 = 1/f1

1v1 = 1/f1 - 1/u1

1/v1 = 1/130 - 1/400

v1 = 192.6 mm

m1 = -v1/u1

= -192.6/400

= -0.481

u2 = 600 - 192.6 = 407.4 mm (object disatnce for the second lense)

f2 = 200 mm

let v2 is the image distance for the secnd lense.
now use,

1/u2 + 1/v2 = 1/f2

1v2 = 1/f2 - 1/u2

1/v2 = 1/200 - 1/407.4

v2 = 392.86 mm (image distance from second lense) <<<<<<---------Answer

m2 = -v2/u2

= -392.86/407.4

= -0.964

B)
overall magnifiction, M = m1*m2

= (-0.481)*(-0.964)

= 0.464 <<<<<<---------
