Question

Please Help. Thank you. I will Rate! Problem 12.33 Two small speakers A and B are driven in step at 745HZ by the same audio oscillator. These speakers both start out 4.50m from the listener, but speaker A is slowly moved away. (See the figure (Figure 1)). Part A At what distance d will the sound from the speakers first produce destructive interference at the location of the listener? d= m Part B If A keeps moving, at what distance d will the speakers next produce destructive interference at the listener? D= m Part C After A starts moving away, at what distance will the speakers first produce constructive interference at the listener? d constructive 1= m

Explanation / Answer

Here,

wavelength of sound = 343/745

wavelength of sound = 0.46 m

A)

for destuctive interference ,

d = wavelength/2

d = 0.46/2

d = 0.23 m

B)

Now , for the next destructive interference ,

d= 0.23 + 0.46

d = 0.69 m

C)

For the constructive interferences

d = 0.46 m
