Introduction:I would like to choose the topic Staffing Levels on my Nursing Units.

Staffing levels means to have the right people in the right place at the right time.It is not just a matter of having enough staff, but also ensuring that they have required knowledge, skills, and experience to function safely and wisely.

Leadership and change theories:

Choosing the right Leadership style can help a leader implement leadership theories change management successfully in his or her organisations.Leaders who can manage change expertly by utilising different leadership theories change management or styles earn profits, achieve growth and maintain a competitive edge.

I would like to use Kurt Lewin's Change model: His model has three steps

Before any change could happen it should go through this step.

Showing the areas which is rendering the change(old behaviours, way of thinking, status quo) is hindering the growth of organisation in some way.This should be examined carelly and communication should be used in proper way as its important during this stage.So, that the employees can become oriented about the eminent change, the logic behind it.And employees will be motivated too.It should be stated that when yhe organisation improves their incentives also will go high.

Leadership Theory: I would like to use Servant Leadership theory.

Servant leadership theory It emphasisesvthe leaders' duty to serve his/her followers-leadership thus arises out of a desire to serve rather than a desire to lead.It is a practical philosophy which supports people who choose to serve first, and then lead as a way of expanding service to Individuals and Institutions.It encourages collaboration, trust,foresight, listening, and the ethical use of power and empowerment.

Collaborative Practice and Its Importance:

Health Care Economics:

It is a branch of Economics concerned with issues related to efficiency, effectiveness, value and behaviour in the production and consumption of health care.

So, identifying with the issues and rectifying the issues are important for the patient as well as the Institution.

Conclusion

Staffing Levels helps in making the nusing unit effective, efficient.As it gives opportunity to every individual Nurse to hold the post of high level.It has to be proved by them through the skill,knowledge they hold in handling the patient.It does not take years to make a person skilled sometimes well experienced person might be lethargic and not skilled but a skilled person can be of less years who can be given opportunity to rise up in the field.And having one skilled person instead of two lethargy people can also save resources to the Institution.

STEPS IN KURT LEWIN'S MODEL EXPLANATION OF EACH STEP 1.Unfreezing

2.Changing As people are already unfrozen now they can be moved to this phase of stage.This step is called as transition or moving.It is a phase where most people struggle .It is a time of uncertainity and fear., making it harder step to overcome.It is also the stage where people learn new behaviour , processess, and ways of thinking.For this reason ,education,communication,support and time are critical for employees as they become familiar with the change.Again change is the process that must be carefully planned and executed. 3.Refreezing Third step and the final is refreezing.It is the symbol of reinforcing, stabilizing and solidifying the new state after the change.And people will get adapted to the new state when they final witness the outcome.
