part 2

For the circuit shown, R1 = 3.55 , R2 = 3.35 , R3 = 4.50 , R4 = 3.00 , R5 = 2.95 , and Vab = 4.20 V. Find V.

A) I2 + I1 = I6 B) V2 + I2R2 - V4 - V3 = 0 C) V4 - I4R3 = 0 D) V1 - I1R1 + V2 + I2R2 = 0 E) V2 + I2R2 - I4R3 + V3 = 0 F) I3 + I5 = I4 G)

V1 - I1R1 + V3 + V4 = 0

Explanation / Answer

R4, R5 are in sereis = R4+R5 = 3 + 2.95 = 5.95 ohms

This 5.95 parallel with R3 ,

effective 1/Re = 1/4.5 + 1/5.95

Re = 2.56 ohms

this 2.56 is in series with R1 and R2

so RNet = R1 + R2 + 2.92

RNet = 2.56 +3.35 + 4.5

Rnet = 10.41 ohms

let i be the current in ckt

so PD Vab = IR

V/(R1+R2) = (VAb)/2.92

V = (3.55 + 3.35 )* 4.2 /(2.56)

V = 11.32 Volts
