Explanation / Answer

B.

Z = sqrt(R^2 + (XL - XC)^2)

R = 130 ohm

L = 515 mH

C = 0.295 uF

XL = wL = 2*pi*f*L

XC = 1/wC = 1/2*pi*f*C

given that f = 427 Hz

Z = sqrt(130^2 + (6.28*515*10^-3*427 - 1/(6.28*0.295*10^-6*427)^2))

Z = 174.81 ohm

Comment below the value of frequency found in A part and I will do the calculation for you.

B.

Cos phi = R/Z

Cos phi = 130/174.81 = 0.743

Cos phi = 0.743
