Question
Can someone explain to me how these situation changes affect the fnet with different masses of rope?
I dont understand the concept of the changes that happen when the rope gets a smaller mass.
Also explain how these change affect the magnitude of net force on the strings if the mass of the string gets smaller.
Can you compare the horizontal forces of both situations and how they differ?
I really need these two situations broken down to me II. Blocks connected by a very light string The blocks in section I are now connected with a very light, flexible, and inextensible string of mass m (m
Explanation / Answer
the net force is always given by
Fnet = m* a
where m is total mass
in the first case the mass of string is small so net force is small
in the second case mass is M so the net force is greater even though there is no friction
