Question

I have posted this question multiple times without any real help. Clearly state true or false for the following. I will rank you badly if you dont and well if you do.

A conducting loop lies in the plane of this page and carries a clockwise induced current. Select which of the following statements are true or false:

1. A decreasing magnetic field is directed into the page.

2. A constant magnetic field is directed into the page.

3. An increasing magnetic field is directed into the page.

4. A constant magnetic field is directed out of the page.

Explanation / Answer

Any current carrying conductor would produce magnetic field. now the current is moving along the clockwise direction in the loop According to right hand thumb rule the magnetic field is into the page with in the loop and out of the page outside the loop.

As the current is constant in the loop the magnetic field produced is also constant. so 1) & 3) options are false.

Option 2) & 4) are true and depends on the position where you would like to measure the field.
