an energy storage carbohydrate in plants R O R O N-C-C-N C-C-O-H

Explanation / Answer

starch is- a energy storage carbohydrate in plants and animals, and is a polymer of glucose. monomers in starch are polysaccharides i.e amylase joined by alpha 1,4 glycosidic linkage and amylopectin is joined by alpha 1,6 glycosidic linkage. glycogen is a polymer of glucose, long chained with few branches, has alpha 1,4 and1,6 linkagesand is a storage carbohydrate of animals. cellulose is an energy storage carbohydrate in plants ,and structural carbohydrate in cell wall of plants ,is a polymer of glucose,( it has only alpha 1,4 bonds). it's true that in cellulose covalent bonds link glucose monomer and hydrogen bonds to hold long chains together.(even though hydrogen bonds are weak linked in cellulose provide strength to the structure). chitin is used as stutures and is a polysaccharide present in exoskeleton of animals. true lipids are not true polymers because they do not have monomers.(polymers are made of monomers.). true steroids are lipids because they are hydrophobic.
