Question

I know it is multiple parts, but some of the answers are really short and some are zero.

Please provide explanations with answers.

Thanks so much!

A) The switch has been closed and after waiting a long time it is opened. What is i1 a very long time after the switch is opened?

B) What is i1 a very long time after the switch is closed?

C) The switch has been closed and after waiting a line time it is opened. What is i1 just after this opening?

D) What is i1 just after the switch is closed?

E) What is i2 just after the switch is closed?

F) What is i2 a very long time after the switch is closed?

You aPe toTr u (31p53) The diagram shows an RL circuit with a switch. e =130.0,V,R1 = 10.0 , R2 = 38.0 , R3 = 65.0 and L 4.0 H .RY T-W 8 i2 8 pt The switch has been closed and after uniti has ben coed and nfnl

Explanation / Answer

A) i1 = 0 because circuit is opened

B) i1 =V/Rnet =130/[10+38*65/(38+65)] = 3.8257 A....because inductor will act like sorted wire after a long time

C) i1 = 0 because circuit is opened

D) i1 =V/[R1+R2] =130/(10+38) = 2.708 A....R3 will be ignored as current will not pass through that wire as current through inductor cant change instantaneously from zero

E) i2 = i1 =  2.708 A...because of above reason

F) i2 = 130/[10+38*65/(38+65)] *65/(65+38) = 2.414A....the current in B will be divided inversally proporstional to resistance
