In a classic amusement park ride, riders stand against the wall in a cyclindrically shaped room. Once the room gets spinning fast enough the floor drops from the bottom of the room, and the riders remain stuck to the wall. At the instant shown, where v is the tangential speed of the rider shown in the figure, the free body diagrm of the rider of mass m is given by:
(Answer has friction pointing up, and mg pointing down which I understand, but I am confused as to why the normal force (N) points toward the center)

Normal force, N will act towards the centre as normal force is always perpendiculqar to the point of contact. Now in the fram of reference of the moving biker, there is one another force which has to balance the Normasl reaction, which would be the centrifugal force
