Question
Consider the following scenario and answer the question that follows:
You run an orphanage and have had a hard time making ends meet. A car dealership offers you a new van worth $15,000 for free if you will falsely report to the government that the dealership donated a van worth $30,000. You really need the van and it will give you an opportunity to make the children happy. Do you agree to take the van?
How do you think a Kantian would evaluate this offer? What would a Kantian do, and why would s/he do it?
Most Natural Law theorists find homosexual activity immoral and improper to be encouraged or endorsed by society. Based on what you learned about this theory, explain what the moral problem is according to the theory. Do you disagree? If so, what do the Natural Law theorists get wrong?
Explanation / Answer
ANS1. kantian must evaluate this offer that why a car dealer is offering a new van. must refuse the offer because there is no need of van as well as without any inspection we must not keep it with us. van cannot fullfil the basic requirements of the kids. there education, clothing, fooding and many more things cannot be fullfilled by van. i will must teach the kids with a good lesson that education should be thier 1st choice and 1st need which should be thier 1st preference of thier happiness. orphanage is just not a shelter who do not have thier parents but the place where the kids must be pampared as thier must have do if they were alive of with them. i must think about kids as they are my kids , and must do what all thier parents have been done for them.i know sometimes comes in life which is hard but the moral values and ethics the children must be taught is permanent.
ANS 2. homosexual is romantic attraction, sexual attraction or sexual behavior between members of the same sex or gender. as a sexual orientation, homosexuality is an enduring pattern of emotional, romantic,or sexual attractions to people of the same sex. it also refers to a person's sense of identity based on those attractions, related behaviors, and membership in a community of others who share those attractions.
i agree it is the improper activity as is is carnal knowledge against the order of nature.but it is emotional attraction, persons were subject to societal harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and threats to their well-being and were denied access to health services. discriminatory practices also were seen. recently indian goverment have announced that marriage with same sex is legal .sexual orientation is one of the many biological phenomena which is natural and inherent in an individual and is controlled by neurological and biological factors.the science of sexuality has theorized that an individual exerts little or no control over who he/she gets attracted to. any discrimination on the basis of one‘s sexual orientation would entail a violation of the fundamental right of freedom of expression.
