Bob and Nora have read their text and gone to the physics lecture in which center of gravity was introduced. They are working on their homework when the following dialogue is overheard. Bob: I'm trying to get a handle on this whole center of gravity concept. I keep getting hung up on the words "center" and "gravity" and I think that's causing me some problems. Nora: It's really pretty simple, Bob. The center of gravity of an object is the point on the object at which all of the mass is concentrated. Bob: But what if the object is really big? I'm not sure that makes sense. I think the center of gravity is the point on the object where the force of gravity acts. Nora: Hmmm ... Maybe one these other PHY 155 students can help us out. They look pretty smart! please help Bob and Nora. Each of their explanations is flawed. In the space below, explain what the flaw is in each of their descriptions of center of gravity.

center of gravity of an obect is the point on the object at which all of the force of gravity is concentrated or supposed to act.

center of gravity is equal to center of mass when gravity is uniform  i.e. point on the object at which all of mass is concentrated

when object is not big then it is approximately same to center of mass because then gravity on the object becomes considerably uniform on the object.

force of garvity acts at every point of object not at onlt single point but we can suppose a point where it is concenrated
