Question
Studies from rodents have also identified several mutant alleles that affect sleep rhythms, but the inheritance pattern is not always the same as in humans. In a species of hamster, the dominant allele, G, causes an advanced sleep phase syndrome (=affected by ASPS), and the recessive allele, g,allows a normal sleep pattern (= unaffected by ASPS) A second, unlinked gene affects coat color, which cacn have two phenotypes, golden and agouti. Use A and a for the alleles at this gene ( you will determine soon which allele goes with which phenotype).
a) Several crosses were performed, The phenotype of the parents were: Affected, golden x Affected, agouti. From al crosses, the pooled offspring data were: 36 unaffected, agouti; 95 affected, agouti.
Based on these data, answer the following questions by filling in teh blanks. In teh space below the questions. Show and explain how you figured out your answers
Affected, golden parent____________ Affected, agouti parent________________
ii) Based on these parental genotypes, what are all the possible genotypes of the progeny?
Unaffected, agouti ______________ Affected, agouti_____________________
iii) What is the expected ratio of affected to unaffected in the progeny?
__________ affected _____________unaffected
iiii) Which phenotype is dominant, golden or agouti?
Explain why?
B) Consider the sleep pattern genee alone. Use the chi-square test to determine whether the observed numbers of affected and unaffected hamsters fit the expected numbers. Show your calculations clearly

Hi I have done the solution for this in my notebook. But the solution is too big , I cannot type it here because very less time is remaining.. So please rate me Lifesaver and I'll share the answer with you through email or cramster inbox. I don't do this generally, but I have no other option here because there's very less time left... you need not worry as I have the solution ready
