Question
Inductors in parallel. Two inductors L1 = 1.22 H and L2 = 2.09 H are connected in parallel and separated by a large distance so that the magnetic field of one cannot affect the other. (a) Calculate the equivalent inductance. (Hint: Review the derivations for resistors in parallel and capacitors in parallel.Which is similar here?) (b) What is the generalization of (a) for N = 36 similar inductors L = 3.05 H in parallel?(a) for this 1/L1+ 1/L2= what i got is 1.298 which is wrong
(B) for this one Segma from i=1 to n=36 of 1/Li what i got is 11.80 and also wrong
please give me the exact answer

Explanation / Answer
L1 = 1.22 H
L2 = 2.09 H
When they are connected in parallel
a) The equilent inductance, 1/L = 1/L1 + 1/L2
L = L1L2 / (L1 + L2) = 0.77 H
b) If L = 3.05 H
If 36 number of incuctors are connected in parallel, then
1/L = (L^36) / (36*L)
L = (36*L) / (L^36) = 4.035 * e-16 H
