(4 pts) (f) What is the composition of each of the phase(s) found in (e) (4 pts) (g) At what temperature does the last of the liquid solidify? (4 pts) Doesnt (h) What is the composition of this last remaining liquid phase at the temperature found in (g)? (4 pts)Explanation / Answer
1. At 1300oC and 30% wt-Ni. It is above graph. So it will be the liquid phase.
2. Composition = 30% wt-Ni, 70% wt-Cu.
3. It will be around 1085oC for 0% wt-Ni.
4. 0% wt-Ni, 100% wt-Cu.
5 and 6. At 1220oC for <20% wt-Ni (>80% wt-Cu)= Liquid Phase, >40% wt-Ni (<60% wt-Cu) = Solid Phase and between 20% and 40% wt-Ni = Solid-Liquid Equilibrium.
7. 1453oC
8. 100% wt-Ni, 0% wt-Cu
