Question

Im having a little problem with the question below.

Two non-parallel light rays initially converge to a single point ona screen. A rectangular block of glass is now placed somewhere infront of the screen, in the path of the light rays, so that theglass surface is parallel to the screen. Where is the newconvergence point of the rays?
a)Inside the glass block.
Toward theglass block, in front of the screen.
Further awayfrom the glass block.
On the screen(unchanged).

I think the new convergence point of the rays should be away fromthe glass block but not on the screen. Perhaps somewhere in betweenthe two, but I don't know how to explain why.

Explanation / Answer

Toward the glass block, in front of thescreen. Because the emergent rays would be displaced [ left toright and right to left] so they would intersect before the screen.
