I'm trying to solve problem 4-34 that is connected to problem 4-33. 4-34 asks: For the system in exercise 4-33, determine the heat generation rate due to frictional pressure losses. I've solved problem 4-33 with its solution from Chegg, but even though the final answer is right, I don't understand a few things. Why for (HL)2 was used a diameter of 0.75 in instead of 1 in? Why for (HL)total were only considered (HL)1 and (HL)2 and not (HL)? It would be very helpful if you could please answer me these questions and solve problem 4-34.
