Answer questions 1, 2, and 3. Please show work. ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS !! Please. Part-I1: Answer the following 6 questions according to the format guidelines: (10 x 660 pts) 1. A rectangle has the dimensions of 4.0m x 7.0m. Determine the area of the rectangle in square feet 2. A bird, accelerating from rest at a constant rate, experiences a displacement of 28 m in li the final velocity? 3. A cart is given an initial (original) velocity of S.0 m/s and experiences a constant acceteration of 20 m/s. What is the magnitude of the cart's displacement during the finst 60s of i oin?

Explanation / Answer

1) We know that the area of a rectangle of length a and height b is given by

Area = a*b

here a= 4.0 m, b= 7.0m

therefore,

Area =(4.0)*(7.0) m2 = 28.0 m2

now, we know that 1m =3.28 ft

hence 28 m = 91.86 ft

therefore, Area = 91.86 ft2

2) We know that

Changing d = 1/2t(Vf+Vi)

Since it begins from rest, hence initial velocity = Vi = 0m/s,

28m = (1/2 * 11s)(Vf + 0m/s)
28m = (5.5s)(Vf)
or
Vf = 5.1 m/s

3) The given values are as follows:

Initial velocity = 5 m/s
Acceleration = 2 m/s^2
time = 6 secs
We have to find the displacement.

We know that
v = u + at
where v = final velocity; u = initial velocity; a = acceleration; t = time

v = 5 + (2 * 6) = 17 m/s

v^2 = u^2 + 2as
where s = displacement

2as = (v^2 - u^2)
s = (v^2 - u^2) / 2a
s = (289 - 25) / 4
s = 66 m
