Explanation / Answer

A) Component of velocity perpendicular to B,

v = 5.1 x 10^6 x cos30 = 4.42 x 10^6 m/s

As, m v^2/r = q v B

=> r = m v/B q

r = (9.1 x 10^-31 x 4.42 x 10^6)/(0.035 x 1.6 x 10^-19)

r = 7.18 x 10^-4 m

B) Time periode, T = (2 pi m) /(B q)

= (2 x pi x 9.1 x 10^-31)/(0.035 x 1.6 x 10^-19)

= 1.02 x 10^-9 s

pitch, p = vz x T = 5.1 x 10^6 x sin30 x 1.02 x 10^-9

= 2.60 x 10^-3 m

p = 2.60 mm
