Brass instruments, from one point of view, are essentially long metal tubes that have been coiled up. Compared to a trumpet, a tuba can play notes with much lower pitches (frequencies). Is this primarily because the total length of a tuba's tube is longer than that of a trumpet tube, or because the tuba's tube has a larger average diameter? Explain. This is what I have: Its due to the length of the tube because as the sound waves travels through a greater distance, the pitch gets lower I think its wrong! Help ?Explanation / Answer
the total length of a tuba's tube is longer than that of a trumpet tube its dependent on the length of tube and no its not dependent on frequency, its the other way round, frequency is dependent on length
