Question

A race car accelerates uniformly from a speed of 41.0 m/s to a speed of 65.0 m/s in 5.00 s while traveling clockwise around a circular track of radius 4.30 102 m. When the car reaches a speed of 50.0 m/s, find the following.
(a) the magnitude of the centripetal acceleration
(b) the angular speed
0.116 rad/s (I get this one!)
(c) the magnitude of the tangential acceleration

Help! I'm not understanding what equations to use to get to the answers. I know a is 5.81 and c is 4.8, but I just am not sure on the equations!

Explanation / Answer

a)centripetal acc=v^2/R=5.81395 m/sec^2

c) tangential acceleration = dv/dt=(65-41)/5=4.8 sec
