Question
For reference mass of electron= 9.11 x10^-31kg mass of proton= 1.67x10^-27kge=1.60x10^-19.
The question states:
A hydrogen atom consists of a single proton and single electron.
a) if the two particles are (on average) 5.3x10^-11 m apart, what is the magnitude of the electrostatic for between them?
b) If this were the only force on each particle, what magnitude acceleration would each experience? In what direction would they accelerate?
Please help! I had trouble applying the masses, I guess you have to do it separately?
Thanks in advance!
