The toxin could bind to any of the sites other than the catalytic site that are important for _1___ polymerase to work in transcription. Examples of these are____2__ entry and exit channels, the _____3_ exit channel, the ___4_____ entry channel, and the protrusions shown within the polymerase that separate ____5____ strands and guide the exit of the _____6____.

Alpha- amanitin is a toxic found in mushroom which blocks the action of RNA polymerase. More specifically RNA polymerase II. During the transcription RNA polymerase synthesized new mRNA strand from DNA. After exposure to alpha aminitin, the process of transcription is stopped. This toxins forms multiple hydrogen bonds with amino acids present in the bridge matrix of RNA polymerase. However it do not affects the entry of DNA into polymerase but it binds with bridge matrix for synthesis of new RNA strand. Hence it stops the synthesis of RNA.
The toxic may bind to any of the site other than catalytic site that are important for RNA polymerase to work in transcription. examples of these are ions entry and exit channels. H+ exits channels and ion entry channels, and the protrusions shown within the polymerase that separates DNA strands and guide the exit of RNA
