Measurement
Please answer A,B and C. Show me how to understand.
5. A strain In the measuremen resistor. is to be made using the bridge. There are two possible methods. The current passes through bridge because variable change in resistance of the sensor it is balanced using a is then given by In the deflection mode, a voltmeter is placed in the bridge, allowing a deflection voltage to be measure For small changes, we can approximate the change in resistance of the sensor by R s 4 R Before the sensor is placed under strain (design uncertainty!) all resistors have resistance R (120 t n, Vs 10.0 t 0.05 V, and ov o to.05 v (there is no deflection voltage before we put the sensor under strain). (a) Calculate design stage uncertainty A(OR) for the null method. RuExplanation / Answer
The Wheatstone Bridge is an electrical circuit used to measurevan unknown electrical resistance by balancing two leg of a bridge circuit.
As shown in above question it has 2 methods such as null method and deflection method of measurement.
In first, null measurement balance voltages so their is no current flowing through measuring device. These are employed to reduce the uncertainty in the measured voltage and current.
Deflection measurement is a usefull approach as the voltage can track high frequency variations in the sensor resistance.
So null measurement method is very precise.
Null methods work by creating a reference signal that's equal to the signal being measured. It's easy to make the reference signal match the unknown precisely but the absolute accuracy of the measurement depends on how stable the reference generator is and ability to measure its output accurately.
