Question
Place a piece of paper under a medium-sized book lying on a smooth tabletop or desktop. Try to accelerate the book smoothly by exerting a constant pull on the sheet of paper. What happens if you try to accelerate the book to rapidly? Can you pull the paper cleanly from underneath the book without moving the book? Ok If you pull the paper slowly it moves the book and the paper stays under it. When you pull it fast and with a upward force it slides the end of the book up and off. My problem is explaining Newton's laws of motion. Can you help me put it in the right words?Explanation / Answer
If the book is accelerate very rapidly,a piece of paper 'stays put. ... In other words, when you pull the book with paper under it lying on a smooth tabletop or desktop paper stays because of inertia. .. yes, we can pull the paper cleanly but we required good amount of impulse so besause of inertia the paper will come out..
