Question

Consider the data for the cell line denoted as MNVA16 in the attached EXCEL file (demeth.xls). This data represents cell courts after treatment using the demethylation agent 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine (5-aza-dC) at 0,2.5 or 25 micromolar concentrations. Cell counts were performed for six replicate wells (r1, r2, r3, r4, r5 and r6) after 1, 3, 6, 8 and 10 days of 5-aza-dC treatment. The spreadsheet shows raw counts (ct) and cell concentrations per square cm e the appropriate non-parametric technique to analyze the effect of treatment with 5-aza-dC on cell concentration if you wanted to use a parametric technique (you don't have to do this later analysis)?

Explanation / Answer

Ans- According to the graph and the cell lines table the cell concentration of untreated cells increase at the fastest speed as compared to all other type of cells while the cells treated with 2.5 mM of 5-aza-dC were growing at the lowest speed. In the parametric observation the predefined parameters will be followed like increase in mean cell growth or increase in total cell growth.
