Question

Can someone help me with this question: What differentiates each of the the Pinus Species environments that reside across the South Western region of Colorado? A couple of paragraphs answering this specifically would be awesome. A map that shows each of the Pinus species across the southwestern region of Colorado could also be a great help. Thank you! This would be greatly appreciated! Can someone help me with this question: What differentiates each of the the Pinus Species environments that reside across the South Western region of Colorado? Explanation / Answer

The pinus species environments are differentiated based on many ecological factors. The physical surroundings such as climate, soil, precipitation, pathogens, fire etc. There are two different types of forests with the Pinus species they are xerophytic which is drier and mesophytic which means wetter based on the soil conditions. The species that grow in these forests vary with the climatic conditions such as in winter with mild temperature and high sun Quercus grisea,Quercus emoryi are grown. During high sun and cold temperature Pinus edulis,Quercus gambelli are grown. Precipitation increase results in poor regeneration of the species. Different groups are seen in pinus species where one is woody species, the other is bunchgrass species and other group is shrubs and midlevel trees. These are differentiated due to fire and they evolved into various groups. The cold coniferous forests where fire cannot destroy theses species it favours regeneration to tall shrubs as Acer glabrum,Salix scouteriana,Douglas fir,White fir,Blue spruce and Pinus aristata.
