Please explain all steps for 5 star rating.

At a certain place, Earth's magnetic field has magnitude B = 0.590 gauss and is inclined downward at an angle of 70.0 degree to the horizontal. A flat horizontal circular coil of wire with a radius of 10.0 cm has 1000 turns and a total resistance of 85.0 ohm . It is connected in series to a meter with 140 ohm resistance. The coil is flipped through a half-revolution about a diameter, so that it is again horizontal. How much charge flows through the meter during the flip?

Explanation / Answer

flux=N(B.A)

=1000*0.59*10^-4*pi*0.1^2*sin70

=1.742*10^-3 Wb

now V=dflux/dt

also, i=V/r

so charge=idt

=Vdt/r

=(1/r)dflux

=(1/(85+140))*(2*1.742*10^-3) (the factor of 2 comes since F-(-F))=2*flux where F is the initial flux)

=1.55*10^-5 C
