Question

Im very confused. We never measured radius of lens and I don't know the N, refractive index, value for this.

is there another way we are supposed to find this? The qustion says using quation 4, and the data for table 2, calculate ratio of the refractive index of lens between red and blue light. And the information in table 2 is red light (object height-24.75 cm....image height 19.35 cm....and f(focal point) 10.87) the blue light information (object height...24.75 cm...image height 18.95 cm...f 10.75 cm)

and equation for says:

1/f = (n-1) / (1/R1+ 1/R2)

please help :(

Explanation / Answer

well R1 and R2 are teh same for the lens so

f red/ f blue = (n blue -1)/(nred -1)

10.87/10.75 = (n blue - 1)/(n red - 1)

hope this helps..
