Question
If the image shows the motion diagram for a horse galloping in one direction along a straight path, Not every dot is labeled, but the dots are at equally spaced instants of time.
Question 1: What is the horse's velocity during the first ten seconds of its gallop?
This is what I did:
My intial starting distance is at 600m at 0s and my final distance is at 500m at 10s.
I got this answer wrong. I did it again, but I keep getting the same answer. I wonder if I'm reading the image wrong. I just don't know what to do anymore.
70 s 50 s 30 s 10s x (m) 50 150 250 350 450 550 650Explanation / Answer
why you need to take that way?
the time interval after every after every alternate spot is = 30 - 50 = -20s
between these points the displacement is 350 - 250 = 100m
so the velocity is v= displacement / time interval = 100 / -20 = -5 .00m/s
NOTE THAT THE FIRST DOT OR SPOT MUST BE PRESENT AT 650M IN THE DIAGRAM. THE ONE YOU HAVE TAKEN AS 0sec IS ACTUALLY 5 sec. THATS WHERE YOU HAVE GONE WRONG. NOW TRY ALL THE BEST . THANX.
