4. Evaluate the economic classification system. Here are some thoughts to guide the discussion: Is an economic classification of the world's countries useful? Why is it important to discuss economic factors in an environmental science class? Why would the terms be controversial (First World, More developed, etc). What indicators do you think are important when devising a classification? Would you add environmental factors? Social factors?

Economic classification is a categorization method of countries based on economic situation of that country.It is a model used to separate out poor countries,rich countries and middle income countries monetarily.Based on gross domestic product countries are divided into developed and developing countries.
It is helpful for world as it help to recognise the developing and poor countries to focus on their upliftment so that they get at par with developed countries.
It is important to discuss it in environment class as responsibility should be divided towards nature as per their economic condition.The developed countries have more responsibility of protecting environment controlling carbon emissions and also helping poor countries by funding them in protecting environment.
According to me GDP,available resources should be indicators .
I will add environmental factors as the countries with most resources should be classified as they have assets and more responsibility towards it.
