I have worked in Galilee basin of Queensland, Australia to explore and exploit coal and export it to Asian Countries through AbbotPoint Port near Great Barrier Reef (GBR). Many NGOs objected its transport through GBR as ships movement and coal dust contamination may affect Corals life, their ecosystem and damage existence of GBR. It was a hot topic in the media. Media used to write articles mostly related to how NGOs/Mining Company winning over the others. Ultimately the issue of protection of GBR was less important than the fighting rivals. In fact GBR is one of the Natural Wonder of the World existing for millions of years. Small changes may not effect it. It has faced many such changes and survived and will still survive. It is a Natural process. Media is not aware of it not discussed about it but more focused on war between rivals than the impact on GBR.

Media used to carry out news for high temperature problems and less news of their achievement now.
A lignite mien very near to sea cost has many problems like sea water intrusion, salt water effecting agriculture, pollution iof local environment etc. The mine management has taken drastic action to prevent all these problems now they succeeded. Media was more active during the problems but not now
Because of sea water pollution by human habitations and industries converting sea water to more acidic. Because of acidity of sea water the snails are less active and increasing the sea stars attack on snails which is damaging sea water ecosystem there. This is known to The Researcher working there but media person gives little information of the research than its political applications.

Rise in pollution and rise in temperature is causing it now and such episodes occurring over millions of years. There are examples sea level rise and gradual adjustment of that area ecosystem over a period. Such articles we never see in the news media.
